Distract him.

He is easy to distract.

Watch him.

Observe his passions.

He loves to talk about himself.

He is obsessed with his new dog.

“How are you?” he asks, admiring the dog painting at the front of the restaurant.

“What’s your dog’s name again?”

And he forgets.

Starts rambling about his dog.

He is easy to distract.

She is easy to distract.

Look at her.

Notice her expensive perfume.

She can talk about her life endlessly.

She loves to read books and write about them.

“What do you do for a living?” she asks, checking her phone.

“What are you doing this evening?” you ask.

And she forgets.

Goes on and on about a gala she can’t wait to attend.

Can’t wait to be out with friends, can’t wait to meet new people.

She is easy to distract.

We are easy to distract.

Look at us.

We walk around holding hands with cold hearts.

We smile with our mouths and not our eyes.

We love to make impressions on strangers, friends, family.

We know what the mouth says, we hear what we want to.

We don’t know what the eyes say, what the body says.

“Are you happy?” we ask.

“What is your next project?” you ask.

And we forget.

We want to form deeper connections with people around us, more connections around the world.

We can’t wait to explore the city…yet the secrets of the village are unknown to us.

We are easy to distract.
